Credible × Polygon: $150M+ in Stablecoin Payments in a Single Quarter
Inside our collaboration with Polygon: the settlement layer powering instant, cross-border payments for modern businesses.
Here’s a number the whole team is proud of: in Q1 2026 alone, Credible processed more than $150M in stablecoin-powered payments on Polygon, part of the $600M+ we’ve now moved in total. Not test volume, not pledged pipeline: real money, crossing real borders, settling in seconds. It’s the clearest sign yet of what our collaboration with Polygon unlocks for modern businesses, and the best part is how that money actually moves.
The money is global. The plumbing isn’t.
Modern businesses are global from day one. A startup in San Francisco can sign up a customer in Lagos, São Paulo, or Manila before lunch, but collecting that customer’s money, or paying a partner back in those same cities, still crawls through three to seven days of correspondent banking built for a slower era. The demand is global and instant. The settlement, until now, has been local and slow. Closing that gap is the entire reason Credible exists.
$600M+ processed: here’s where it’s flowing
This volume isn’t spread thinly across a long tail of experiments. It’s concentrated in the high-velocity segments that need fast settlement the most:
Stablecoin fintechs (45%, ~$270M): remittance volume, money sent from the USA to India, Brazil to Germany, and across dozens of other corridors. This is the engine room of our volume.
Traders & brokers (20%, ~$120M): global OTC desks and prime brokers use Credible to access emerging markets.
Creator platforms (20%, ~$120M): tips, subscriptions, and instant payouts to creators across dozens of countries.
B2B trade (10%, ~$60M): cross-border supplier and partner payments that used to sit in banking limbo for days.
Gaming & sports (5%, ~$30M): in-game purchases and tournament payouts at high volume.
Five segments, one integration, and every one of them defined by speed, scale, and a global user base.
How it actually works
From the outside, nothing about Credible looks unusual. A business integrates it like any standard payment gateway, customers pay with the local methods they already love, and nobody has to touch a blockchain. Underneath, every transaction runs through a tighter loop: the customer pays through a local rail; Credible’s routing engine picks the best processor for that specific transaction, optimizing for the highest approval rate and the lowest cost, and underwrites the risk in real time. While the traditional rails settle in the background over the next few days, on-chain stablecoin liquidity fronts the funds so the money lands immediately. Settlement executes on Polygon, and the business receives stablecoins or fiat (USD, EUR, GBP) in seconds. The experience stays familiar. The settlement becomes instant.
Why Credible runs on Polygon
Stablecoins are what make instant cross-border settlement possible at all. They move value around the clock, without waiting on banking hours, cut-off times, or the relay race of correspondent banks. But moving this kind of volume is not a demo; it needs rails that stay fast and cheap at scale. That’s where Polygon comes in. In Q1 2026 alone, Credible processed more than $150M in stablecoin-powered payments on Polygon, with finality in seconds and fees small enough that they don’t erode the economics of each payment. Polygon was our first choice of EVM chain, and the decision was deliberate: its open money stack is purpose-built for payments, and Polygon’s commitment to the payments industry runs deeper than any other chain we evaluated. Building on Polygon’s open money stack lets us settle global flows at internet scale rather than banking scale. The blockchain isn’t the product anyone sees; it’s the rail that makes the product viable.
AI keeps it fast and safe
Instant settlement is only useful if it’s also safe. The moment you front funds to a merchant before the traditional rails have cleared, you take on risk, and that risk has to be priced correctly, transaction by transaction. This is where AI does the quiet, essential work: every payment is scored in real time, routed to the processor most likely to approve it at the lowest cost, and underwritten before any liquidity is deployed. What used to be a slow, manual, backward-looking process becomes a real-time decision made thousands of times a day. It’s what lets Credible move fast without ever moving recklessly.
We’re just getting started
$600M+ in total, and $150M+ on Polygon in a single quarter, is a milestone, not a finish line. Payments are being rebuilt to run at the speed of the internet instead of the speed of banking, and the businesses that win will be the ones whose capital is never stuck in transit. With stablecoin fintechs, traders, creators, B2B trade, and gaming already settling through Credible, and more volume moving onto Polygon every week, our collaboration is just getting started. Money should move as fast as the businesses that depend on it. Together with Polygon, we’re making sure it does.
